Teamer - Sports Team App App Reviews

Pretty cool, definitely saves time...

Very interesting application that will save me an abundance of time once the fall football season comes around (real football, not that sissy carry-the-ball commercial-ridden American junk ;). I gave it five stars for the pretty seamless web/iOS implementation, I will come back and re-review once I start using it for real. Improvements that would be nice to see are: Multi day-of-week event schedule (not just one day a week) Multi phone number ability for parents. Native iPad support. Mass notification on iPad/iPhone. Thank you for a great application. J

Great for organizing a sports team

Works well. Great way to keep the team organized. a few things could be better though. The Teamer website supports document uploads. Would be nice if we could access them from the app, but as of now that feature does not seem to be here. Also, multiple emails per player would be nice. That way both parents as well as the player can be easily notified.

Love the new look!

Much improved design and great that its free also.

Wont create my event

When creating an event and pressing save it acts as if its creating the event but the "creating" icon just spins round and round and need does anything. I then have to close the whole app out and it does the same thing.

New update has bugs

There seems to be a limit on the length of a message in team talk. Messages are being truncated. Also characters that usually dont print are being displayed.

Nice

Just what I was looking for. Some other things I would like to see in this is, able to add photo for members and to put notes for each member. Other than that good job.

Love this app

New design update and functionality is excellent. Love the map view on events. Would highly recommend this to any sports team/club.. and its free!!

My team love it

The new update is great, big improvement and happy its free!

What Pointstreak?

When my local league decided to drop Pointstreak I nearly panicked. The Teamer ap has really stepped in as a suitable replacement. I use it mainly to schedule games and know who can attend. My team really likes the Ap, Web, text and email options with simple check-in/out options.

Time saver

It is really a good tool and huge time saver. Easy, Fast and very Nice.

Good, could be great

Definitely one of the better free apps for managing a team. Does invites and managing who will be at a game very well (although I would like notifications when my team responds not just when they decline). Team Talk needs work. It is not intuitive in that after posting something, you then have to select who to send it to. That part is not obvious so several messages arent shared. So, my team doesnt use that feature. Four stars because of solid invite features and that it is free.

Agree with Good, could be Great

First, Teamer does what it says it does (with a minor glitch here and there) and is a very useful tool for any team leader. So, give it a try. That said, they are so close to having an outstanding, indispensable app. For instance they have the "team talk" where you can post discussions. You can choose who receives it which is good, but if someone comments on it, everyone receives an email, and my team rebelled against the email traffic. So, I still use TT, but its mainly used as one-way broadcast tool from me to the team. They have a nice invite system for events, and people can block out days they are not avail, but as any leader knows, to get people to proactively do something like that is not reliable. They have a "standby" system, but that doesnt take into account positions on a team (that who the replacement is can depend on who is missing). Whats missing is an "availability poll" where you can ask whos avail and then choose a team from there. All that said, Ive been using the Teamer app/website successfully for about 1 month (with my work-arounds) and its better than trying to do all this with email and txts and google calendar. Give it a try and see if it works for you and your team. Its definitely worth the time to take a look.

Times Change On You

Ive been using Teamer this year, however almost every game time changes by 20 minutes with out me adjusting it. So Ive had serval forfeits due to this glitch. Will be moving back to TeamSnap.

Great App

Teamer is defiantly a great app but you can not access documents on the app. Other than that it has been awesome!

Horrible

This app is horrible. Every time my team trys to use it it freezes up. I have deleted and reinstalled it at least 5 times and it still happens to me and everyone else who trys to use it. You cannot send anything from your phone. Only receive or it freezes on you and you have to delete and reinstall. Dont even try, it will only frustrate you!!

Missing mobile functions

I cant change my response to events or view documents. My team (and I imagine most if not all teams) uses these the most

Cool App! User friendly

Only recommendation would be to add a snack schedule feature.

Hate it

Keeps interrupting. Seriously. I cant finish a post to my team. The worst

Awesome app

Works great. UI could be a little simpler.

Be a better teammate or coach with Teamer

Good communication and attendance features. Great for club teams with dispersed membership. Volunteer features would be nice.
